Knowing Vasomotor Rhinitis Causes of Nasal Disorders

Vasomotor rhinitis, also known as non-allergic rhinitis, is inflammation that occurs on the inside of the nose, which is not caused by allergies. This condition is caused by disorders of the nasal nerves. Do you often experience runny nose, sneezing, and nasal congestion without a definite cause? If true, be careful. Maybe you have vasomotor rhinitis. The lining of the wall inside the nose is rich in blood vessels. Under normal conditions, these blood vessels constrict so that air circulation in the nose can run smoothly. But if inflammation occurs, blood vessels will dilate so that makes the nasal airways disrupted. This inflammation is usually caused by swelling of the arteries and accumulation of fluid in the tissues in the nose.

Signs and Symptoms of Vasomotor Rhinitis

Rhinitis is divided into two types, namely allergic and non-allergic. Allergic rhinitis is the most common rhinitis. Allergic rhinitis can be permanent, seasonal, or be caused due to the risk of one's work. While vasomotor rhinitis is a disease that is included in non-allergic rhinitis. Vasomotor rhinitis occurs when blood vessels in the nose expand or expand. Widening of the blood vessels in the nose results in swelling and can cause nasal congestion. This can make the mucus dry in the nose. The cause of vasomotor rhinitis is still not known with certainty. However, symptoms can be triggered by something that irritates the nose, for example:
  • Air pollution
  • Changes in weather & dry air
  • Cigarette smoke
  • Alcohol & perfume
  • Certain medications such as antihypertensive drugs, beta blockers, antidepressants, aspirin, and birth control pills
  • Use of nasal spray decongestants too often
  • Spicy food
  • Severe stress
  • Hormonal changes during pregnancy or menstruation
Some of the symptoms of this disease are runny nose, congestion, sneezing, runny, and mild irritation or discomfort in or around the nose that can reduce the function of your sense of smell. If you have vasomotor rhinitis, you will not feel symptoms of itchy nose, watery or itchy eyes, and itchy throat. Because these symptoms only occur if you have allergic rhinitis.

Treatment and Prevention

Non-allergic rhinitis, such as vasomotor rhinitis, can apparently affect children and adults. However, this disease is more common in people over 20 years. If you often experience some of the symptoms of this disease, you need to consult a doctor. The doctor will do a physical examination and conduct investigations such as allergy tests and endoscopic examinations to see the inside of the nose. If no abnormalities are found on the examination, the doctor may diagnose it as vasomotor rhinitis. The main treatment principle in vasomotor rhinitis is to avoid the factors that cause symptoms. Sleeping with a higher pillow can help reduce nasal congestion. To help overcome the symptoms of vasomotor rhinitis, free drugs such as nasal saline fluid for nasal irrigation, corticosteroid nasal spray, decongestants (pseudoephedrine or phenylephrine), and nasal spray antihistamines can be used. However, if your symptoms get worse or you experience side effects from over-the-counter medicines, your doctor may prescribe nasal sprays such as mometasone, azelastine, olopatadine, or ipratropium. Until now there has not been a fully effective prevention method in dealing with vasomotor rhinitis conditions. Therefore, it is important to know what triggers can trigger symptoms and avoid them. You should not use nasal decongestants too often, because using this drug too often can cause worsening of symptoms. If vasomotor rhinitis cannot be treated with treatment, your doctor may recommend surgery. Consult a doctor immediately, if the symptoms of vasomotor rhinitis that you experience are getting worse despite using over-the-counter drugs, or you experience side effects from over-the-counter medications for vasomotor rhinitis.

Dispelling Acute Hepatitis Type C

Type C acute hepatitis is an infectious disease caused by the spread of the hepatitis C virus in the bloodstream through infected body fluids. Acute hepatitis C can develop into chronic hepatitis which results in liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Type C acute hepatitis is classified as a short-term viral infection. The medium of the spread of hepatitis C virus can occur through air, food, and drinks. This virus will then make contact with the blood or bodily fluids of infected people. Hepatitis C can cause a number of symptoms such as fatigue and vomiting about six months after exposure. But in many cases, acute hepatitis type C often does not show symptoms. Even if there are, very few symptoms appear and are not unique, so they are often ignored. If left untreated, acute hepatitis type C can develop into a chronic infection. Chronic hepatitis C causes long-term liver disorders such as liver damage, cirrhosis, and liver cancer. Vulnerable Conditions with Type C acute hepa
